Prince and Thomas to Star in Philly World Premiere of McNally's 'Unusual Acts'. Broadway will meet Broad Street this fall when Philadelphia Theatre Company welcomes Faith Prince and Richard Thomas for the world premiere of Terrence McNally's Unusual Acts of Devotion, Oct. 22-Nov. 23. Broadway's 'To Be or Not to Be' Will Now Begin Later. Manhattan Theatre Club's new production of Nick Whitby's To Be or Not to Be - a comedy about a European theatre troupe shut down by the Nazis - will begin two days later than expected at Broadway's Samuel J. Keith Jochim and Jeff Talbott face-off in the U.S. regional premiere of Peter Morgan's political drama Frost/Nixon, which begins performances at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis Sept. 3. City Theatre in Pittsburgh presents the world premiere of Broadway Rent actor Anthony Rapp's one-man rock memoir, Without You, which he wrote, opening Sept. 3 after previews from Aug. 28. Innvar and Cox Are Lovers in DC 'Way of the World'. Broadway's Veanne Cox and Christopher Innvar will play lovers Millamant and Mirabell in The Shakespeare Theatre Company's new production of William Congreve's 1700 comedy, The Way of the World, Sept. 30-Nov. 16, in Washington, DC. Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy' Exits Broadway; Tour Continues. Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy, the family-friendly theatrical, acrobatic and musical adventure that evokes the exotica of untamed places, ends its limited Broadway engagement at the Broadway Theatre Aug. 24. Armon, Rayson, Thompson and Mahler Will Sing in Chicago Premiere of 'Tomorrow Morning'. Tomorrow Morning, a new musical about two relationships, by British composer, librettist and lyricist Laurence Mark Wythe, will receive its Chicago premiere under the direction of Tom Mullen, who also co-produces, Oct. 31-Dec. 7 at the Victory Gardens Theater Greenhouse. Ross, Marcovicci, Andreas, Brussell, Bruce Will Play Philly's Prince Cabaret. The 2008-09 Morgan's Cabaret season at the Prince Music Theater in Philadelphia will include five artists - two Philadelphia favorites and three artists who will make their debuts on the Prince cabaret stage. Desert Bloom: Las Vegas 'Phantom' Plays 1,000 Performances. Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular played its 1,000th performance Aug. 25 at The Venetian Resort. Broadway's 'Phantom' Has a New Soprano. Marni Raab, who previously starred as rising opera star Christine on both the Asian world tour and the U.S. national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, takes over the role on Broadway starting at the evening performance Aug. 20. Charles Busch, Mary Beth Peil and More Will Star in World Premiere of Busch's 'Third Story'. Charles Busch will star in the world premiere of his new comic drama inspired by movies, The Third Story, directed by Carl Andress, for a Sept. 16-Oct. 19 run at La Jolla Playhouse in California. Casting Complete for Shanley & Krieger's Musical 'Romantic Poetry'. Jeb Brown, Jerry Dixon, and Emily Swallow have joined the company of Romantic Poetry, the new musical by John Patrick Shanley and Henry Krieger, which Manhattan Theatre Club will give a world premiere this fall. |
